ABOUT  TEACHER  PHILIP

Philip comes from the West Midlands, a metropolitan county located in central England, where he attended school for his GCSE qualifications. At university he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management (Hons) and later became involved in teaching. After studying for his TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) qualification he began his English Language Teaching (ELT) career at a university in Wales. 

With a over decade's experience in ELT, Philip has been active in all aspects of the field, from teaching young learners to preparing international university students for IELTS (International English Language Testing System) and later in curriculum research and development,  in both the United Kingdom and in Hong Kong. The accomplishment of the development and implementation of his EAL/ESL programme (English as an Additional Language/English as a Second Language) for an educational foundation has led him to focus his teaching to identify the needs of the different stages and abilities of his students, which includes preparing the right curricula for young learners  through to adults, covering playgroups, kindergarten, primary and secondary school levels as well as IELTS and English for Specific Purposes. 

Philip is a professional Native English Teacher, who teaches with passion and drive to ensure his students achieve an all-round understanding of the English language and to be able to communicate with confidence. Philip is well respected by both his younger students, after many years teaching at a well known international school foundation in Hong Kong, as a Native English Teacher and his mature students, who have achieved further successes in life after learning English.

TEACHING

Tailor-made, One-to-One Lessons. 
General English forms the core of Philip's English teaching programme. Each lesson is tailor-made to suit each individual student. Lessons are based around an in-house developed course book focusing on reading and writing, followed by a speaking and listening section. The lessons allow the student to focus on specific language areas depending on their individual learning needs. 

Grammar - rules and usage, explained clearly to allow an easier understanding and context.
Reading - to encourage reading of different text types, emphasis on assessing phrases allow students to understand and to comprehend the text.
Writing - after a topic discussion, ideas and new vocabulary are generated into a piece of creative writing. 
Listening and Speaking - conversation to increase confidence with speaking, practicing listen skills to increase proficiency of word usage and pronunciation. 
CLASS TIME
Lessons are conducted in a professional manner while balancing a fun working ambience. Students are encouraged and given the right motivation every lesson to ensure achievement and a positive learning experience.
